Future Vision

The College of Agriculture aims to become one of the preeminent institutions in the agricultural sciences both locally and worldwide, equipping workers in the industry to meet present and future challenges.

Faculty message

The College of Agriculture aims to actually serve the community in Babylon and throughout Iraq through teaching students the fundamental sciences and research ethics that they will need for the various agricultural sciences. It also aims to develop agricultural skills across a range of fields and raise the graduate's capabilities to meet global standards and market demands. Supplying community members with expertise in agricultural sciences, who possess the knowledge and training necessary to meet the demands of both the public and private sectors. Graduates from this college will also be highly skilled in applied research to maximize the use of soil and water resources, maximize the use of livestock, and advance agriculture generally in order to preserve the environment, secure food and develop natural resources. They will also excel in knowledge dissemination, community service, innovation and creativity.

Faculty aims

1- Developing the college’s human resources through training academic leaders, faculty members, their assistants, administrators and workers.
2- Seeking to develop scientific research and finding special funding for it from government institutions and others.
3- Providing additional infrastructure for the college capable of providing a suitable environment for teaching, learning and scientific research.
4- Encouraging agricultural investment and contributing to community development in Iraq.
5- Obtaining accreditation from international institutions to develop the educational system and achieve global excellence.
6- Expanding reliance on advanced audio-visual educational tools and means of cognitive communication.
7- Encouraging, organizing, and guiding student activities so that they appear at a level befitting the college, the governorate and the country in general.
8- Spreading environmental awareness and modern techniques in the field of sustainable management of agricultural resources, especially since our university is one of the green universities.
9- Supporting graduate agricultural engineers and strengthening the relationship through the Syndicate of Agricultural Engineers and complete openness to all official and semi-official state institutions.
